World Sport for All is pleased to welcome the Comité Olímpico Cabo-verdiano as a new National Member of the Federation.

The Committee’s admission strengthens World Sport for All’s presence in Africa and brings together two organisations that recognise sport’s value not only in high-performance competition, but also in education, health, inclusion and community development. The Comité Olímpico Cabo-verdiano’s mandate includes encouraging the development of sport for all alongside elite sport.

The Comité Olímpico Cabo-verdiano has supported initiatives that connect sport with young people, schools and local communities across the islands. Its activities have included school outreach and Olympic education, youth sport programmes, and projects using sport to promote social inclusion and prevent violence.

This experience offers a strong foundation for cooperation with World Sport for All. Through its membership, the Committee can contribute to international dialogue and collaboration on widening access to sport and physical activity, sharing experience and developing initiatives with other members.

The Comité Olímpico Cabo-verdiano has been admitted as a National Member on a provisional basis. Its membership will be submitted to the World Sport for All General Assembly in Türkiye for formal approval, in accordance with the Federation’s governance procedures.

The Committee’s recognition therefore remains provisional until the General Assembly has considered and approved its membership.

World Sport for All warmly welcomes the Comité Olímpico Cabo-verdiano and looks forward to building a constructive relationship supporting inclusive and accessible sport. Its experience in Olympic education, youth engagement and community initiatives can enrich the Federation’s international network and advance the shared goal of making sport available to all. Formal membership remains subject to approval by the General Assembly in Türkiye.
