World Sport for All Announces the Recognition of the International Table Soccer Federation

World Sport for All (FISpT) is pleased to announce the recognition of the International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF) as part of its international sporting community. This recognition acknowledges the ITSF’s role as the global governing body for table soccer and its commitment to developing the sport as an accessible, inclusive, and educational activity for people throughout the world.

The ITSF represents table soccer globally and promotes the sport to national and international sports authorities, institutions, media, sponsors, players, and the wider community. Its mission is to develop and promote all aspects of table soccer without discrimination of any kind, in cooperation with its member federations and partners.
International recognition and integrity
The International Table Soccer Federation is candidate to be Full Member of the Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS), an international organisation that brings together federations and sporting bodies seeking recognition and cooperation within the global sports movement.

The ITSF is also an official signatory of the World Anti-Doping Code. It formally became a WADA Code signatory in August 2021, reinforcing its commitment to clean sport, athlete health, fair competition, and the integrity of international table soccer.
These recognitions demonstrate that table soccer is governed according to internationally accepted standards of organisation, ethics, anti-doping compliance, and sporting integrity.
A global federation for table soccer
Founded in 2002, the ITSF is a non-profit organisation based in France that promotes and develops table soccer worldwide. The Federation works through national member associations.

The ITSF oversees an international competitive calendar that includes the ITSF World Cup, World Championships, World Champions League, Gold Finals, World Series, and ITSF 750, 500 & 250. It also establishes standards for competition tables and supports refereeing, education, women’s participation, disability sport, and the development of national federations.

Through its “100 Foosball Tables” initiative, the ITSF promotes access to table soccer in schools, universities, clubs, and health-related settings, working with member federations and public and private partners to make the sport widely available.
Table soccer: a true sport for all
Table soccer, also known as foosball or table football, is a fast-paced sport played on a table equipped with controlled rows of miniature players. It combines reaction time, hand-eye coordination, tactical awareness, concentration, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
Its format makes it exceptionally suitable for the Sport for All movement. Table soccer can be played indoors throughout the year, requires limited space and equipment, and can be enjoyed in schools, universities, community centres, sports clubs, workplaces, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and public spaces.

The sport is equally accessible to beginners and elite athletes. It can be played individually or in doubles, recreationally or competitively, and by children, adults, and older people alike. Its low physical entry barrier allows people of different ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds to compete together, while still offering a demanding pathway for high-performance athletes.
A powerful tool for inclusion
Table soccer is particularly valuable for inclusive sport. Because it is played from a seated or standing position and does not depend primarily on running, jumping, or physical strength, it creates opportunities for people with physical disabilities to participate on equal terms with other players.

The ITSF actively supports this dimension through its Disabled Commission, its development programmes, and international competitions that include para table soccer. The sport enables mixed participation, encourages peer-to-peer interaction, and helps break down barriers between people with and without disabilities.

Table soccer also promotes social connection. Around a table, players communicate, cooperate, compete, and share moments of enjoyment regardless of language, nationality, or sporting background. These qualities make it a practical and effective tool for social integration, community building, and intercultural dialogue.
A shared vision
The recognition of the International Table Soccer Federation reflects World Sport for All’s commitment to supporting sports that are accessible, affordable, educational, and capable of bringing people together. Table soccer embodies these principles: it is easy to learn, challenging to master, socially engaging, and open to everyone.
World Sport for All looks forward to cooperating with the ITSF to promote table soccer as a sport for health, education, inclusion, and lifelong participation.
