In this monthly series, World Sport for All presents a member of its Board and the experience, values, personal interests and vision they bring to the international Sport for All movement.

Experience and responsibility

Ahmad Saad Abdulla Alsharif is President of the Athletes Association, Vice-President of the International Sport for All Federation and a contributor to the establishment of numerous sports organisations inside and outside the United Arab Emirates.

He has practised sport since childhood, studied it academically and worked in it professionally. This long relationship with sport has shaped his conviction that organisations should benefit from the experience, relationships and passion of those who have dedicated their lives to the field.

New horizons through sport

For Alsharif, Sport for All is “a new life” that opens new horizons for friendships, new relationships, renewed ambition and added value for communities, countries and organisations. His perspective highlights sport’s ability to connect people and create opportunities that go beyond physical activity itself.

Volleyball is his favourite sport. Away from his professional commitments, he enjoys reading and swimming.

International ambition

At FISpT, Alsharif would like to help position the Federation among the top five global success stories. He aims to ensure that it continually creates new value, helps preserve the world and promotes participation, including through the proposed award.

A central part of his ambition is to build strong relationships with international organisations such as the United Nations, UNESCO and other relevant partners. He believes that these relationships can reinforce FISpT’s influence and extend the reach of Sport for All.

Personal profile

He describes himself as a peace-loving person, and green is his favourite colour. He joined FISpT because he feels a strong moral and ethical responsibility towards sport and believes that organisations should benefit from his experience, networks and passion.

“Sport opens new horizons for friendships, new relationships, renewed ambition and added value.”
