AIMS Sport Integrity Education Programme
The Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) has officially launched its Sport Integrity Education Programme, reinforcing its commitment to education, prevention and the protection of the fundamental values of sport.
The programme was launched live on 28 August from the Salle Olympique at the Maison du Sport International in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, bringing together more than 100 participants representing over 40 organisations from across the Olympic Movement and the wider international sporting community. The strong participation reflected a shared recognition that safeguarding the integrity of sport requires collective responsibility, practical education and decisive action.
The AIMS Sport Integrity Education Programme is designed to equip sports leaders, administrators, athletes, coaches and decision-makers with the knowledge and tools to recognise, anticipate and address integrity risks before they develop into serious breaches.
Its guiding principle is clear: prevention begins with education.
Through a dedicated e-learning platform, participants gain practical knowledge that can be applied directly within their organisations, helping to strengthen governance, safeguard athletes and build cultures founded on responsibility, transparency and trust. The programme is available free of charge to AIMS and United Through Sports (UTS) members, ensuring broad access to integrity education throughout the AIMS sporting community.
The official launch opened with remarks from AIMS and UTS President Stephan Fox, who underlined the shared responsibility of the international sporting community to protect athletes, organisations and the values upon which sport is built. He highlighted the importance of moving from reactive responses towards proactive prevention, with education serving as one of the most effective tools for addressing integrity threats.
AIMS Vice President Dr Julie Gabriel welcomed participants and emphasised the importance of collaboration, awareness and shared responsibility in creating stronger and safer sporting environments. She highlighted that the programme has been developed to support stakeholders at every level of sport, enabling them to identify potential risks, make informed decisions and strengthen prevention within their organisations.
The Sport Integrity Education Programme was formally presented by Norbert Rubicsek, J.D., Director of CSCF – Sport Integrity Group, who guided participants through the dedicated e-learning platform and introduced its structure, educational resources and certification pathway.
The programme combines interactive learning with case studies, factsheets, video resources and practical materials, enabling participants to translate sport-integrity principles into concrete action. The curriculum focuses on four key pillars:
Corruption – identifying and preventing corrupt practices in sport
Doping – understanding and upholding anti-doping principles and standards
Sport Manipulation – recognising and responding to the manipulation of competitions
Safeguarding – addressing harassment, bullying, abuse and threats arising through social media and other environments
Upon successful completion of the programme, participants receive an official certificate, recognising their commitment to strengthening integrity standards within their organisations and the wider sporting community.
For AIMS, the initiative goes beyond the launch of an educational platform. It is an investment in safer athletes, stronger organisations, better governance and greater trust in sport. By placing practical knowledge directly in the hands of those who serve sport every day, AIMS is helping organisations identify vulnerabilities, strengthen preventive measures and build greater resilience against integrity threats.
