World Sport for All is proud to announce that it has been admitted as an Associate Member of the Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS).

This achievement represents a major milestone for the global Sport for All movement and provides further legitimacy to World Sport for All’s role as a leading global organisation dedicated to promoting sport, physical activity, health, inclusion, and social development for all.

The admission of World Sport for All to AIMS is the result of a rigorous governance review conducted over the past year, as well as a strong institutional commitment to strengthening the organisation’s membership structure, transparency, integrity, and accountability.

Through this process, World Sport for All has reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the integrity of sport, promoting responsible governance, and protecting from conflict and rivalry within the wider Olympic family.

“This is a defining moment for World Sport for All and for the entire global Sport for All community,” said Marco Tomasini, CEO of World Sport for All. “Joining AIMS confirms the credibility of our organisation, the strength of our governance, and the importance of Sport for All as an essential pillar of the international sports movement. We are honoured to become part of the AIMS family.”

The Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) is an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Recognised umbrella organisation representing international sports federations that are not yet recognised by the IOC but are seeking to develop within the Olympic Movement.

Founded in 2009, AIMS is one of the five umbrella bodies within the international sports structure, alongside ASOIF, AIOWF, ARISF, and the associate members. Its mission is to strengthen individual sports, share expertise and knowledge, promote good governance, and maintain close cooperation with the IOC in support of the development and eventual recognition of its member federations.

AIMS provides its members with a collective voice within the global sports community and plays an important role in supporting the growth, credibility, and institutional development of emerging and non-Olympic sports.

Membership in AIMS is therefore a significant recognition of an organisation’s governance standards, global reach, and commitment to the values and principles of the Olympic Movement.

This milestone is a central objective of World Sport for All’s overall Strategic Plan and has been achieved shortly before the organisation’s General Assembly, which will be held in Antalya.

The achievement reinforces World Sport for All’s position as a global leader in the Sport for All sector and strengthens its capacity to represent the interests of its members, partners, and communities worldwide.

It also creates new opportunities for international cooperation, institutional dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and joint initiatives with other members of the AIMS communities.

As a member of AIMS, World Sport for All will also join the programmes of United Through Sports (UTS) and is pleased to become part of the UTS family.

United Through Sports (UTS) is an international alliance established under the umbrella of AIMS in 2017. Its mission is to promote inclusion, unity, equality, education, and youth empowerment through sport. UTS brings together sports organisations, federations, governments, NGOs, cities, and communities to create opportunities for young people across all five continents.

UTS organises international multi-sport events, festivals, tournaments, and educational programmes that place young people at the centre of sport. Its work promotes healthy lifestyles, equal opportunities, youth leadership, and social inclusion, while ensuring that events are open to young people of all abilities.

By joining UTS, World Sport for All will contribute to and benefit from a global platform dedicated to using the power of sport to build a more inclusive, healthy, and united society.

World Sport for All considers this admission not only as recognition of its past work, but as a commitment to its future development. The organisation will continue to expand access to sport and physical activity, strengthen its international network, promote ethical and transparent governance, and support the role of Sport for All in health, education, social cohesion, and sustainable development.

World Sport for All extends its sincere gratitude to AIMS, its members, partners, and the entire international Sport for All community for their trust and support.
