The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) has approved its Climate Transition Action Plan, reinforcing its commitment to climate responsibility, low-carbon governance, and sustainable operations. The Plan sets out practical measures to reduce emissions in line with the Sports for Climate Action Framework, including a pathway toward halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2040.

FISpT’s approved Plan focuses on the areas that represent its main footprint as an international federation: business travel, governance and committee meetings, office energy use, digital services, purchased goods and services, and related waste. Because FISpT does not organize competitions or operate venues, the Plan prioritizes low-cost, high-impact actions such as online-first governance, virtual-first operations, responsible travel, paper-light administration, and office efficiency measures.
“The approval of this Climate Transition Action Plan reflects FISpT’s commitment to lead by example,” said Marco Tomasini, CEO of FISpT. “As a global Sport for All federation, we want to show that climate action can be practical, inclusive, and fully compatible with our mission to expand access to sport for everyone.”
The Plan also integrates climate considerations into FISpT’s governance, strategy, public communication, and just transition approach. It includes annual monitoring, periodic review, and a commitment to share progress through the Sports for Climate Action reporting process, while ensuring that digitalization and reduced travel do not undermine accessibility or participation across the global membership.
FISpT first announced its formal alignment with the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework earlier in its sustainability work, and the newly approved Plan builds on that commitment with concrete operational measures and accountability mechanisms.
The International Sport for All Federation promotes sport and physical activity for all through international cooperation, governance, and knowledge-sharing. FISpT is committed to sustainability, inclusion, and climate action across the global Sport for All movement.
